The H&W EHT AGM 2026 took place on 25th July at Wellington Heath Memorial Hall. The Co-chairs, Dr Andy Sims and Kay Hughes led the meeting, with 10 Friends attending in person, and David Pamment, Finance Manager, attending virtually. The meeting was run efficiently, referencing proxy votes for those unable to attend and with grateful assistance from Mandy for refreshments.
This was followed by a short, guided walk to Loxter Ashbed Quarry, led by Dr Andy Sims. We stopped along the way from the hall to the quarry to discuss the local geology and Andy provided a brief overview of the Champions Site once we reached the disused limestone quarry of Silurian age, approximately 422 million years ago. The detail seen included faults, folding, beds of different thicknesses and fossils.
This was a welcoming day for EHT Friends to meet in person for updates, catch ups and geology in the field.
