It is a long distance walking trail which highlights the geology, heritage and landscape of the counties. The trail guide takes you along the route of the trail, interpreting the geology and landscape seen. Attention is also paid to how both man and nature have utilised and been influenced by the local geology and landscape. It looks at industrial archaeology, historical, recreational and wildlife sites along the trail.
