We are now on the final month of our project and are starting to look back at all the work we have done and how busy we have been. We have visited a few sites – probably for the last time within the project – and found a few more for surveying at the last minute.  We even found time to do one last community event at the Spring Greens Festival in Pembridge.

Training

We still have time for one last training session.  Why not join our project ecologists and pond experts Will and Giles, for Pond Wildlife Experience at Davies Meadow, Norton Canon. Thursday 9th June 2pm – 5.30pm

You will have the chance to look at the plants and insects inhabiting several ponds on the Herefordshire Wildlife Trusts Davies Meadow reserve and help our experts carry out a survey. We will also be looking at the surrounding meadows which are full of wild flowers and insect life.

Booking is essential please use this link:

Photographers wanted!

Our wonderful Ice Age pond app is now up and running (and free to download).  When following the app walking routes around Sturts and Birches nature reserves the app allows you to take photographs with wonderful virtual ice age creatures including mammoth, auroch and Irish deer.  We are looking for volunteers to visit these sites, enjoy a wonderful visit follow the app, and take photographs of themselves and friends/family with these wonderful beasts using their phones or tablets.

The reserves are covered in wildflowers and orchids at the moment, and looking fabulous.  If you are able to help us capture and share some of these photos, then please do get in touch with us (e.andrews@worc.ac.uk).

Project Evaluation

As part of our project we want to find out about the experiences of the people and volunteers who have attended our events, guided walks and talks as well as those who have volunteered directly with the project.

To help with this, we would be very grateful if you could spare us a few minutes to complete a short questionnaire about your experiences. Just click on the link below for the questionnaire.
