We have had a busy summer finishing and celebrating all the hard work that has gone into this fantastic project.
Woodgate Valley Trail Launches
We had a wonderful day at Woodgate Valley Country Park on Saturday 12th August to launch Trail 4 – Woodgate Valley to Quinton and Trail 8 – Illey Wilderness Trail.
Julie and John led an enthusiastic group along Trail 8 to discover some hidden gems in this beautiful corner of the project area.
Many people joined us to decorate pebbles, make badges and try our dino-detective trail. Lots of people discovered the boulders in the park and took home the trail guides, ready to find new erratics.
New Publication – From Fire to Ice
We are thrilled to receive our new booklet back from the printers. From Fire to Ice: The Story of Birmingham’s Erratic Boulders, reveals the new research, carried out during the project, into the people who discovered and saved the many boulders we have left today.
As a thank you to players of the National Lottery, we provided advance copies of our new booklet to anyone with a ticket at our Woodgate Valley event. Don’t forget to collect your copy at at our events during September and from local outlets.
End of Project Celebration
We would like to invite you to join us for our end of project celebration on Saturday 16th September at Rowheath Pavilion. We will have some short talks about at the fantastic work carried out during the project, displays on the project, we will be holding a vote on your favourite boulder and there will be plenty of time to chat and eat cake.
