We have had an exciting start to 2023, with a Birmingham and the Black Country Geological Society work party exposing a boulder found near Illey. This boulder turned out to be much larger than expected and the job of exposing it made a bit more difficult by the very slippy mud surrounding it.
Thanks to Julie Schroder and Graham Worton for making this work happen and all the volunteers for their help digging it out.
Volunteer Training
We have a busy month of volunteer and staff training ahead but we hope that this will provide the skills to prepare interpretation boards and new trails ready for our launch events in summer.
Finally, a site visit to Woodgate Valley Country Park provided a lovely wintery walk on a crisp sunny morning and views of some of the boulders covered in snow. They looked fantastic!
